After having started two rubber factories in Guntersville, Alabama and one in Goldendale, Washington, it came time to start his own business. Butler Rubber was organized in 1968 by Travis Butler, who with a lifetime of experience in synthetic rubber "used for recapping business", managed the factory until the mid eighties. The main products produced at that time were synthetic rubber molded products, rubber covered rollers for conveyors and palletize rolls, wheels, gaskets, seals and government contract work. He remained with the company as a friend, advisor, and mentor until 1992.

In 1986 the business was purchased by Sam Butler, who had grown up in and around the rubber field and had worked with rubber and other similar fields that tied closely to the business. Silicone was introduced into the business in 1987 as molded products, and within six months high temperature Silicone Rolls and Silicone Wheels were brought on board.  Over the next years the business developed more into Silicone and by 1995 our Silicone products were being shipped across the United States.
In 2010 Sam stepped down from the manager of the business after 24 years into an advisory capacity, turning the management over to key employees of the company who have been the heart of the business all through the years.
It has always been important to give the highest quality work to our customers and to finish the work fast and orderly. It is also important that the state of the art products are used to insure the best possible finished products for our customers. This is the foundation that Butler Rubber was built on in 1968.
